The answer, my friend, is blowin in the wind...

'Blowin in the Wind' is a song written by Bob Dylan in 1962, and released on his album "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan" in 1963. It has been described as an anthem of the 1960s civil rights movement in the USA. In Martin Scorsese's documentary on Dylan, "No Direction Home" Mavis Staples expressed her astonishment on first hearing the song, and said she could not understand how a young white man could write something which captured the frustration and aspirations of black people so powerfully (information source: Wikipedia).

How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
How many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, and how many times must the cannonballs fly
Before they are forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin in the wind
The answer is blowin in the wind.

Yes, and how many years can a mountain exist
Before it is washed to the sea?
Yes, and how many years can some people exist
Before they are allowed to be free?
Yes, and how many times can a man turn his head
Pretending he just doesn't see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin in the wind
The answer is blowin in the wind.

Yes, and how many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, and how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, and how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin in the wind
The answer is blowin in the wind.
